How long is each session?
Sessions are 1 hour long. 45 minute sessions are available for younger children or sessions focusing on articulation only.
Where is the office located?
I work out of my home office in the Bridlewood area of Kanata.
Are sessions covered by OHIP?
No OHIP does not cover private speech-language pathology sessions. Many extended health plans through employers offer some coverage. Please check your policy to see how much coverage is available and if a doctor's note is required to access coverage.
What is the fee for services?
Therapy sessions are billed at $170 per hour. 45 minute sessions are billed at $140.
Assessment sessions are billed per hour. A written report is available at an additional fee.
Do I attend therapy sessions with my child?
Yes! Parents/caregivers are an integral part of their child's progress. By attending sessions alongside your child, you will know exactly what goals your child is working on and how to target these skills at home during everyday interactions. Part of therapy time will be devoted to answering your questions, as well as providing coaching and modeling to support you to support your child.
Do you provide virtual sessions?
No, currently all sessions are in person at my home office.
Is the intervention dog, Otis, involved in all sessions?
Otis is involved in sessions as much or as little makes sense for the individual child and his/her progress. If you prefer Otis not be present at a session, please just let Jody know.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Payments are completed electronically at the end of each session. Receipts will be provided upon payment.
What is the cancellation policy?
Sessions can be canceled up to 48 hours in advance of the appointment, otherwise sessions be billed in the full amount.
